Standards, books and articles
Most of my writing circles one idea: projects are how we shape the future, and sustainability is not a side quest. The standards, books, guides, and articles below give leaders and practitioners tools they can use on Monday morning, not theories that sound good on stage. Integrity over greenwash. Regeneration over less harm. Accountability over slogans.

Author · 2026 · New Broken BirthrightYoung People on the World They Are Inheriting, and What Adults Owe Them October 2026. 226 pages. Paperback and Kindle. Between 2025 and 2026, young people aged fifteen to seventeen in twenty-three countries answered the same twenty-one questions: what a normal day looks like, what worries them, what gives them hope, what they would build with real money, and what they would tell the leaders of their country if the leaders had to listen. MoreThis book is what they said, in their words, to the adults who make the decisions they live with. They answered with more precision than most of the adults who make decisions about them. The book sets out twelve things they agree on, six ways their worlds differ, and ten asks, each with a measure attached, for governments, companies, and the everyday adults around them. Written for parents, teachers, coaches, and Scout leaders, and for the people who write policy, run companies, and sit on boards. |

Gorillas in the Mist of Climate Change
After traveling to Rwanda and climbing into the Virunga Mountains to witness the endangered mountain gorillas firsthand, I wrote this piece to expose the contradictions between global climate rhetoric and on-the-ground reality. It documents what unfolded ahead of COP30 in Brazil, where deforestation surged in preparation for a sustainability summit, and challenges leaders to confront the gap between performance and progress.
